Snow Man was originally a group called Mis Snow Man (before it was broken to separate noon boyz from it). Mis Snow Man was created with the boys from junior group Jr.Boys for Takizawa Kakumei in January 2009. This was originally a 9 member group, but in June 2009 Onodera Ikki was moved into another junior group, MAD, making Mis Snow Man the 8 member group it was during most of its existence. Mis Snow Man was an 8 member group consisting of Sanada Yuma, Nozawa Yuki, Fukazawa Tatsuya, Iwamoto Hikaru, Watanabe Shota, Miyadate Ryota, Abe Ryohei and Sakuma Daisuke. However, Mis Snow Man as the 8 member group has already ceased to exist. In 2011 Sanada and Nozawa were given the name 'noon boyz' and they appeared in Waratte Iitomo as the Iitomo Seinentai, until Iitomo came to end in 2014. Abe had an 8-month long study break during which the name Mis Snow Man disappeared, and SnowMan5 were introduced as "former Mis Snow Man". However, sometime after Abe returned and joined the other 5 members, they were given the name 'Snow Man' by Tackey on May 3rd, 2012. Thus the boys were made into two different groups at the time: noon boyz members: Sanada & Nozawa Sanada has left the agency and is now a member of 7ORDER. Nozawa is still a Johnny's Junior and can often be seen backing for NEWS Snow Man members: Fukasawa, Iwamoto, Watanabe, Miyadate, Sakuma, Abe The anniversary of Snow Man getting their name back from Tackey has become an important day both for the boys and the fans. In 2013, at Takizawa Kabuki senshuuraku, Snow Man had written a letter of thank you to Tackey for giving them their name back, and in 2014, again in Takizawa Kabuki senshuuraku, Tackey wrote a letter to Snow Man - first and the last letter he said to ever write to juniors, the only juniors being Snow Man who he in the letter called "special" to him from among his kouhais. Snow Man specializes in dance and acrobatics, but also challenge many other areas such as acting in both stage shows and various dramas. Snow Man also appeared on TakiChannel most often out of juniors. In 2017 Johnny's Entertainment began to join the 21st century and set up an official YouTube channel for select juniors. Snow Man was among the junior groups selected and they posted videos every week. In late 2018 Snow Man went to Takizawa and Johnny-san and asked what they could do to debut. They were given several options and out of those they chose to add new members to their unit. Snow Man starting in 2019 became a 9 member unit again with the addition of Mukai Koji (from Kansai Junior), Meguro Ren (A member of Uchuu6), and Raul Maito Murakami ( Who was part of Shounen Ninja). The three of them were picked by Takizawa who was impressed by each of them. They began to perform as a 9 member unit and gained a lot of attention over 2018-2019 becoming one of the top two when it came to junior groups. And on August 8th 2019 at the Junior Matsuri concert, it was announced that in 2020 the group would debut. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
